Is there any charge?

There is ABSOLUTELY no charge to start, no charge to stop and no contract term to become an Ambit customer. You can stop any time you like. In fact, if you decide you want to change to another company, I will help you do it.  And you can do that any time.

How do I know there are savings?

You can look at our bills for the month before and the month after starting Ambit service. You can see that our electric charges were reduced from 11.875 cents per kWh to just over 4 cents, and our gas charges were reduced almost 10% (month to month) when the actual Nat Grid charge went up. 

Each year Ambit will send you an accounting statement showing you your savings.  If you haven't saved the guaranteed amount, you will get a refund check to get you to your full savings amount. This is all backed up by the proven record, Ambit has an A rating from the Better Business Bureau and guarantees no service interruption during changeover.  If there is any interruption during changeover they will pay the first month's bill, no questions asked.

What else changes for me?

Nothing else changes for you.  You still pay your bills to National Grid, NYSEG or any other power companies.  You still maintain any arrangements you had, like LIHEAP, budget plans, payment plans, etc. Any problems, National Grid, NYSEG or your power company will still takes care of it for you. 

Think about it, when power goes out on the street they don't turn on some people before others.  They restore the street.

Why would National Grid, NYSEG or any other power companies do this?

The government said National Grid, NYSEG or any other power companies can't continue to act like a monopoly.  They have to get customers to energy supply companies (ESCos) like Ambit.  You are not treated any differently than before you change.  In fact, you will get a congratulations/thank you letter from National Grid for taking advantage of their "New Choices" program.  In fact, you will get a 7% discount for the first two months.  After the two months you will get the guaranteed savings you have been promised. Other companies will have different promotions.

Can I save more with someone else?

This is the only GUARANTEED program available in New York State (this is the best place for comparing . With any other program, despite the promises they give you for signing, the bill prices will rise.  Look at the bill that I got the month before I switched to Ambit.

How much can I really expect to save?

People that I have spoken to, in this region, tell me that they are saving 10% - 30%.  Look at our bills for the month before and the month after starting Ambit service. We are saving over 65% on electricity and 10% on gas.  If I told you that, without producing the bills, you would think that I am lying.  But here is proof.

Some of these other companies offered me a gift.  Do you?

To say thanks, just for signing up, Ambit will give you a complimentary vacation Getaway for Two - good for accommodations on a 3 day/2 night vacation at one of about 30 select domestic an international destinations.  This is a gift.  You will not have to sit through any timeshare presentations.  Additionally you will get a 2000 point bonus towards out Travel Rewards program.  This is like frequent flyer miles or credit card score points, good towards premium travel packages.  And you will automatically earn more points just by using your electricity or natural gas.  The average house in our area can earn a trip in about 12-15 months, just by using the same products you already use.  When did National Grid, NYSEG or any other power companies offer you a vacation, just for heating or lighting your house?

Is there any difference in service or product?

National Grid, NYSEG or any other power companies provides the same natural gas and electricity to all their customers. The pipe for gas and the wires for electricity go to neighborhoods and each family taps into that.  There is no different individualized segregation of customers.  They couldn't get you anything different, even if they wanted to.  Your service will be the same that it has always been and the same as all your neighbors.

Can I get Green/Renewable energy?

Ambit offers a 100% wind power option for its electric customers. Like all services, there is a premium. Ambit charges 2 cents per kWh for green energy.  Compare this to National Grid's premium of 2.4 cents per kWh and NYSEG's extra charge of at least 2.5 cents per kWh.  And if you take the time to check other ESCos you will see we remain at the lowest premiums offered.  Some companies offer minimums and complicated formulas, but at the end of the day, you save with Ambit.

How do I become an Ambit customer and start saving?

Do you offer gifts if I refer my friends?

Absolutely.  You can have your friends become Ambit via your customer web page,  www."your customer #".joinambit.com , just like you did.   Ed or Paula can help, if you need it.  Refer 5 friends and earn a free premium travel voucher. You’ll get a choice of any package that’s 45,000 points or less, which could include airfare for two or a cruise.  And if you refer 15 friends, within 6 months, you can earn free energy.  Ed or Paula, who have already gotten their free energy,  will be happy to explain the details.

You become customers of Ambit Energy, but you are also customers of Ed & Paula.  That means that if you have any problems Ed & Paula will help you out.  This could be with reading your bill, a billing problem, keeping track of your energy usage or helping add up your travel points for your next vacation.

Travel Rewards Bonus

Just for using your electricity and natural gas you earn travel rewards.  Like frequent flyer miles, you will earn vacation credits, just for doing what you are doing anyway.  Click on the link to see the current options. Keep in mind that you will be using your lights and keeping warm, the same as always.  But with Ambit you get the guaranteed savings and these vacation credits.  At my home, in upstate New York, I earn about $400 worth of credits, for doing what I always do.
